  5. As much as I want to,
  6. I can't make you stay.
  7. Before I shed my long-lasting cries
  8. Before you leave and say your goodbyes
  9. I will only let you know that I love you anyway
  10. Even though we are now apart,
  11. I mean these words deep within my heart
  12. And if the path you follow in life brings you to heartbreak somewhere down that line
  13. If misery and depression is all you'll ever find
  14. If somebody abuses or hurts you,
  15. If somebody is untrue,
  16. and treats your heart unkind
  17.  
  18. And then you can just run to the one who loves you
  19. Just race into my cuddling embrace
  20. Just come to these two arms that will keep you safe from harm
  21. I'll hold you so tight in my arms,
  22. And keep you nice and warm
  23. If life has failed your heart, don't fear, I'm not that far
